Herceg Novi is set to shake off the winter blues as the iconic Mimosa Festival returns from 12th to 27th February 2027.
According to the Herceg Novi Tourist Organisation, this year’s three-week extravaganza will kick off with a headline performance by regional star Vlado Georgiev. The festivities will culminate on 27th February with the traditional, theatrical burning of the carnival effigy—symbolically taking the blame for all of the past year’s misfortunes—followed by a grand finale concert featuring Jelena Rozga on the Igalo Hotel plateau.
Promising a vibrant mix of live entertainment, cultural exhibits, gastronomic feasts, and sporting events, the festival is designed to inject fresh energy into the quiet coastal winter. For tourists, it offers a compelling reason to experience the Adriatic out of season. After all, is there anything more enchanting than waking up to the delicate scent of fresh mimosa blossoms?

Program Preview: Key Highlights
Opening Ceremony & Launch Party (Friday, 12th February)
The festival officially gets underway at 20:30 with the grand arrival of the 57th Mimosa Parade, accompanied by the traditional firing of the trombonjeri (blunderbuss shooters). In a symbolic gesture, the keys to the city will be handed over to the carnival performers, paving the way for a massive opening night concert by Vlado Georgiev at the Igalo Hotel plateau.
The Mimosa Harvest: Wine & Fish Festival (Saturday, 13th February)
The following morning shifts focus to the coastal towns of Kumbor, Đenovići, and Baošići for the famous Wine and Fish Festival. The grand procession—featuring the City Band, local majorettes, the Đenovići Local Band, traditional street performers, and masked characters—will arrive in Kumbor at 08:30 for the opening performance. The parade will then move to the luxury resort of Portonovi at 09:45, before wrapping up in Đenovići at 10:30.
Later that evening, the party moves indoors. A “Night Under Masks” event kicks off at 20:00 alongside a live show by Yugoton and Neda Ukraden. From 21:00, the historic Masquerade Ball begins, featuring lively sets from Exodus, Toć, and the Tropico Band.
A Night of Wine and Romance (Sunday, 14th February)
Valentine’s Day will be celebrated in style with an evening dedicated to wine and romance, soundtracked by a live performance from celebrated pop artist Sergej Ćetković.
International Carnival & 90s Throwback (Saturday, 20th February)
The highly anticipated International Carnival is scheduled for Saturday night at 20:00. Once the parade concludes, the energy levels will stay high with a massive 90s throwback party featuring iconic regional acts including Tap 011, Funky G, and Ivan Gavrilović.
The Carnival Trial & Grand Finale (Saturday, 27th February)
The festival draws to a close at 20:00 with the humorous “trial” and burning of the carnival effigy. The grand finale will see regional pop sensation Jelena Rozga take the stage.
