A new documentary film about Novak Djokovic, titled Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter, opens with a shot of the Bay of Kotor, specifically a view of the entrance to the bay from Herceg Novi.
Having a shot of Škver at the very beginning of a film that is being shown around the world represents an invaluable form of tourism promotion for Herceg Novi and Montenegro as a whole. It is particularly significant that the Bay of Kotor does not appear in the film merely as an attractive backdrop, but as a place that is closely connected to Djokovic’s life away from the court.
Throughout the film, it is clear how present the Bay of Kotor is in Djokovic’s life. The camera follows the tennis great through footage of Portonovi in Kumbor, where Djokovic spends time with his family, relaxes, and also trains during his stays in Montenegro.
Another special moment of this summer in Montenegro was the documentary’s premiere in the Bay of Kotor itself. The Wolf in Winter was screened for around 200 guests at the Forza Kuk restaurant, at the Kotor–Lovćen cable car. In this way, the story of Djokovic, which premiered in July at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, received its own special Montenegrin chapter just a few weeks later.
During July 2026, Djokovic was also seen in Herceg Novi and the surrounding area, while photographs and social media posts documented his time in Rose, Tivat, and Sveti Stefan.
The appearance of Montenegro in the film is particularly valuable given that the documentary is available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world, and has already ranked among the platform’s most-watched documentaries.
